The story
A young man, sixteen years old, on the wrong road.
A young man had been out of home at sixteen. He was on the edge, moving in the wrong direction. Then he found a stable place to live. A room in an apartment with two other young blokes doing it just as tough.
That stability let him finish school. Get his own place at eighteen. Build a life.
John King had built businesses across Melbourne. He'd made his own way. But that story stayed with him. Because the difference between where that young man ended up and where he could have ended up was one thing.
Somewhere to live. Someone to give a shit.
Bloomington Care exists to give back that stability. Not just to young people falling through the cracks later on, but right now to men on NDIS who want to build independent lives, and to veterans who served this country and deserve support that respects what they gave.

What we stand for
Three things drive us.
Mateship over management
We don't run rosters of strangers. We match support workers to participants based on shared interests, personality, and what actually works. A support worker who trains with you at the gym does more for your independence than one who sits on their phone.
Reliability over reassurance
We show up on time. We do what we said. We're not here to make you feel good about the care you're getting. We're here to make sure the care you're getting is genuinely good.
Dignity over compliance
Every participant is a person before they're an NDIS number or a DVA card. We build the care around the person, not the other way around.
The team
Small team. High standard.
Bloomington Care is a dedicated team of five support workers across Melbourne, led by founder John King. As we grow, we grow slowly. We don't take on participants we can't support properly.
If you want to know who'll be walking into your home, we'll tell you. If you want to meet them before they start, we'll arrange that too.
